My Mother’s Shortcake

Great to serve with strawberries or any fresh fruit

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

  • Cream together the sugar and butter.  Add the eggs.
  • Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.  Add to the above mixture.
  • Add the milk and vanilla and beat well.
  • Place in a 9×13 baking pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
